For those of you who are curious about Photoshop techniques, I cloned the sky from another photograph. It's easy to do and I think it adds a lot to the image. When I took this shot the sky was a solid gray.

I saw this creepy green thing under bushes when I was weeding. I had to photograph it because it was so ugly.

Swan At Zoo

I needed to post something other than flowers, so I decided on this swan photo I took the other day at the zoo.

Attitude

The colors in this photo, taken in the late afternoon light, are highly saturated. This flower has "attitude" and makes me feel optimistic.

A wild sunflower planted itself in the backyard and is now beginning to bloom.

Mao Clinic

My lens wasn't wide enough to capture the entire Mao Clinic and I couldn't walk back any further. So this is the result.

To create this abstract of the Mao Clinic I zoomed out with at 18-200 mm lens at a slow shutter speed.

Sunflower & Vase

I keep telling myself I need to go out and take some photographs but I keep finding other stuff to do. This is a Wal-Mart sunflower.

Maybe my next posting will be a landscape. I'm interested in HDR (high dynamic range) photography; that might be my next subject on this blog.

Real Tulips

The backyard tulips are in full bloom. Because of circumstances my photography has been ignored the past few weeks. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Are These Real Or Fake?

These are fake. Pretty good fake tulips. My tulips have come up, but haven't flowered yet. Tulips stand for Spring.

First Bloom

Another sign that Spring is near. I noticed this bloom on the day before Easter, picked it, and put it in a small glass vase.

With a little help from photoshop I captured reluctant ice skating geese at Arrowhead park.

Goose Skating

The geese on the small pond at Arrowhead Park walked very carefully on the ice. This one seemed to almost lose it's balance. It was a cold overcast day which enhanced the colors and resulted in a short camera shoot outing.

UC Stairway

I've been instructing an OLLI workshop on Picasa at the University Center and took this photo of a stairway at the Center for use in class.

The image appeals to me because of the diagonal lines of the stairway in contrast to the rectangular lines of the window.

Brown Pears on Black

Trying to work with negative space. I'm not sure I understand the concept but I know its important and can add balance to a photograph.

Headlights

I took a bunch of photos of a Harley a couple of years ago and I still find images I haven't explored.

One Duck

The weather in February has been fairly mild for SD. Maybe we'll start seeing more ducks. There's more to photography than roses.

The Valentine Roses are withering but their photos will live on until I get tired of them.
